Be...I am sorry to hear that you have lost your joy. Been there and done that! Obviously no one can "make you happy" or "make you have a joyful heart." Joy is a decision we make in each moment. It doesn't mean you are going around hugging people and laughing all the time. It is a peacefulness from within and a decision to en-joy each moment for what it is, to the best of your ability. Research does show that faking it until you genuinely feel it still causes the release of the neurotransmitters associated with smiling and joyfulness. We all have our accumulated traumas, but they do not have to be our identity. Leave the past in the past...it is roadkill. Just keep on driving and don't look back. Stay in the present moment without defining it through the filters of the past. You might want to read my book, "Everyday Miracles by God's Design." It is a quick read and may help you get out of your funk.
