Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Healing the Wounds
The goal of our treatments for people with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), is not to create amnesia, although many people would prefer never remembering their traumas. The goal is to break the pathological attachment to living a life that is skewed and altered by the new software that was set in motion by the trauma.
In PTSD your perceptions of life are preventing you from living in the moment you are in without your perceptions in that moment being interpreted by the
trauma.
Often the mind of a person with PTSD works much like a jukebox. With the right stimulus/trigger, a button in the mind is pushed and out flops a record playing your sad song.
Candice Pert wrote and book called Molecules of Emotions and reported research that showed that every emotion causes the hypothalamus to secrete neuro peptides unique to the type of emotion your are experiencing. We become addicted to the type of emotional neuropeptides produced by our dominant emotions...which makes PTSD so difficult to break.
A person will literally go into withdrawal from their negative neuropeptides when they get into a very positive environment. Their hypothalamus will secrete neuropeptides unique to positive emotions and the person will almost certainly start creating drama and negativity around them in order to get their "fix" of the negative neuropeptides they are addicted to having.
Treatments must address the malware (Negative software programming from the traumas) on all levels of the body, mind, and spirit.
This is why at the Hansa Center we are not just addressing PTSD as a chemical imbalance, but have developed new treatment innovations, such as NeuroCardial Synchronization and NeuroPhotonic Therapy, to reach deep into the person where these stored memories live.

Flying with Eagles
By Dr. David Jernigan
Have you ever been to an invigorating movie that left you feeling like you could conquer the world? You know, it is that feeling you get when you hear the Rocky movie theme song. Whatever the movie you walked away from feeling invincible and feeling like you can rise above your daily grind to be more than you have been, you know the feeling I am talking about.
The feelings are similar to having spent time with individuals, possibly at a business conference, religious event, or networking event, who we look up to as “Eagles.”
Eagles inspire us to reach for more in our lives. Motivational speakers often teach that you should find an Eagle and emulate their successful actions.
All of this is true to a point. The point I am making is that in order to truly reap the benefit of “flying with Eagles” you must do the work necessary before, during, and after meeting them.
The warm fuzzies you get from being around Eagles don’t help you to get anywhere without you putting in the work in the form of sustained action.
Knowledge taught by Eagles has been transformed as the Eagles digested the knowledge and applied it in their own life and turned the knowledge into wisdom. You can gain much of their knowledge and the Eagle is very wise, however they cannot give you wisdom. They can only give you knowledge, which you must digest through taking definite actions on a moment-by-moment basis until you transform it into your own wisdom.
Most Eagles I know have told me that people think they are an “Overnight success.” These Eagles laughingly say, “Yeah, an overnight success after ten years!”
Knowledge without action is dead. Faith without love is dead.
The root origin of the word “Inspiration” is to be “In Spirit.” To be “Motivated” is originally meaning to be stirred to action! So while you are feeling the spirit of an Eagle’s vibration, knowledge, and motivation… make the decision to break free from being an “Eagle-junkie,” feeding off of their energy, only to fade back to your status quo!
Fly… be free! Spread your wings. Watch, and learn, and feel the inspiration and motivation that Eagles provide, and put actions into every moment of every day, whether it is applied to business, health, relationships, or spirituality.
In time you will find that you are not just admiring Eagles, you have become one! Share

Miraculous Diagnostic Machine
By Dr. Jernigan
What if a medical diagnostic machine was created that would replace every single lab test and every type of other diagnostic device? What if it could generate reports that could tell you with incredible accuracy every biochemical malfunction? Every microbe would be identified and every toxin revealed using this new machine.
The diagnostic machine would then print out reams of data revealing the minutia of imbalances and items which are outside the statistical norm of the average American. With this machine we could finally see all the hundreds of thousands of problems that need fixing in a person who is sick.

Early Deaths at an All-Time High: The Thinning of the Human Herd?
By Dr. David Jernigan
Every year approximately 1.5 million people are dying prematurely due to illness-related deaths. That adds up to 15 million men, women, and children every ten years. Imagine driving through New Mexico, West Virginia, Nebraska, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, Vermont, Wyoming and seeing no living human!
There is a Chinese saying that speaks of the balance of all things. When there are many grasshoppers there will be many frogs to eat them. With many frogs there will come many herons to eat them. To everything there is a season. In the wilds of Alaska the wolves are apex predators and help to keep the deer populations in healthy numbers, thinning the herd.

Childhood Illness: Training for the Future
By Dr. David Jernigan
Children are to a degree necessarily imbalanced. They are in a constant state of change. Children seek to discover the limits of their control over their environment. What has become known as childhood infectious illnesses are the training ground of achieving and maintaining balance in their life as an adult. The ability to react appropriately to stimuli is a learning process.
If a child is challenged by microbes their body should react appropriately by producing a fever and the lymph nodes should be activated. When a fever occurs it must be understood that the child is already in the healing phase, not the illness phase!
Physicians are seeing more and more children whose body will not generate a fever. In fact now more than ever children are manifesting diseases that were previously considered to be geriatric illnesses, in part due to the generations of drug-interventions from birth to old age.
Obstetric interventions at birth, none or short-term breastfeeding, vaccinations, indiscriminate antibiotic use, suppressive therapies such as fever-reducing, Tylenol-type medicines, poor lifestyle and dietary choices allow our children to bypass these childhood illnesses taking the fast-track towards adult illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. (See reference for more on the effects of modern lifestyle on children) Book, Treickler, R., “Soulways. The Developing Soul – Life Phases, Thresholds and Biography”

Are you Harboring Bacteria in your Teeth?
Are you Harboring Bacteria
in your Teeth?
By: Dr David Jernigan of Hansa Center for Optimum Health
If we see teeth for what they truly are they are one of the most crystalline entry points into the organ circuits of the body. In many people with chronic illness, after years of antibiotics and natural anti-bacterial remedies, bacteria have been found living in the gingival tissues around the teeth.
Bacteria and their toxins can enter every organ and tissue from this hiding place where antibiotics cannot effectively reach since it is not directly in the tissues of the body.

Eat, Pray, Love, Change!
I just went to see the movie “Eat, Pray, Love” with my teenage daughters. I didn’t know much about the movie except that it was based upon a true story of a woman traveling the world to find peace within her self.On the drive home with my daughters, now fifteen and seventeen, we reflected upon how much life had changed for all of us in their short life.
It seems the only reliable constant is that everything will change. We all know that everything will change, but somehow we are never ready for it when it happens.
I seem to live my life so much in the now-moment, with very little thought for the past or tomorrow, that on some level I feel like this luscious moment of post-movie bliss with my daughters in the car with me is somehow always going to be this way.

Which is More Powerful…the Body, Mind, or the Spirit?
For years I have treated some of the top athletes, top thinkers, top meditators, and top spiritual teachers from all over the world. I found it interesting that each category had succumbed to illness in spite of their prowess in their given area of achievement.
Illness is not just our lot in life!

Is This As Good As it Gets?
I love the line Jack Nicolson says in the movie, “As Good as it Gets” where he tells the woman he is in love with…“You make me want to be a better man!”
The waist length silky blond hair, the perpetually laughing eyes, match perfectly with the slightly mischievous and cute smiling red lips of the energetic and joyful seven year old girl that bounds into my treatment room.
That she is intelligent beyond her years is obvious as she rattles off the memorized carbs, protein, and fats in one slice of three different brands of Ezekial bread. She has had to grow up faster than other girls her own age. She has been diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes.
She holds herself very bravely in the face of over 2000 needle pricks and insulin shots per year and dutifully passes on opportunities to sneak candy or sweets.
As a doctor practicing American Biological Medicine I know from the research that this form of Diabetes is supposed to be incurable. One research article I found even said that there has never been a cured case.
I ponder her life.
Is this as good as it gets?
She was not born with this malady.
She was fine for years and one day it all changed for unknown reasons.
The initial doctors never stopped to even ask “Why is this happening?”
Like so much of conventional medicine’s answer to collections of symptoms… “We know what to call it…and we know how to manage it…better get used to it, because this is as good as your life is going to get!”
She smiles up at me bravely and even joyfully as she gleefully tells me another joke as I treat her.
She understands American Biological Medicine is striving to help get her body into its most optimum functioning and integrity as possible.
She understands I cannot personally heal even the simplest paper cut. She knows that only her body can correct this problem.
All I can do is the best I can do.
I have grown quite fond of this girl with the indomitable spirit.
I am pushed to go beyond what is accepted. Though I cannot not say it aloud I want to scream...“No! This is not as good as it gets! Not on my shift!”
Like Jack Nicholson’s movie line, I want to tell her, “You make me want to be a better doctor!”
I salute you all who struggle to maintain the quest of restoring your health and life!

The Report Card of Life
It can seem harsh to think that every aspect of our life is reporting back to us like grades on a report card as to how well we are doing in living and applying the universal rules governing all that we are creating in our life.
In my early years of elementary, middle, and high school I was not a particularly good student. My report cards definitely reflected this fact. “David, you can do anything you put your mind to, if you would just put your mind to something…anything!” was the common plea of my parents at this time of my life. School and studying didn’t interest me much however and my grades reflected this fact.
Little did I know as a young man that all of life was much like school; there are multiple subjects and the better we learn and apply the rules the better grade or results we will get out of life.
In school, the better you study and understand the lessons, the better grade you get when tested. It seems self-evident that real life, life after school, operates upon specific rules/laws, yet for many years I was not interested in really studying the necessary lessons to learn how to be successful in every aspect of my life.
We all can readily spout off our A,B,C’s and much of the book learning of our school education, yet can we readily spout off the spiritual truths that govern how we are getting everything that we are getting in life?
Our report card of life reveals how well we are doing in our interpersonal relationships, our finances, our spiritual growth, our peace of mind, our joy, our health, our ability to manifest the desires of our heart. I know that many of us are getting A’s or B’s in one or two of these classes, but the rest…
It can be easier to think that the situations of our life are too random and out of our control to ever truly master and get “straight A’s.” Yet many of us partake in self-help seminars, read books on getting better results in various aspects of our life, go to church to learn, and follow mentors in the hope that we can figure out what we missed in the school of life in order to get an A.
We all live life, yet often we wish for someone to write the book titled, “Life for Dummies” because life seems so complex and unfair. The real truths of life are simple. Life does not require a Ph.D., it does however require consistency and accuracy in applying them!
As a doctor practicing natural medicine, people come to me for help for every issue involving the body, mind, and the spirit. The true definition of doctor is not healer, but teacher. So much of the time I am presented with people who will fight to the death to hold onto medicines, ideas, life concepts, unforgiveness, and other self-deprecating thoughts, never realizing that those same issues are what is giving them such bad grades!
Why hold onto beliefs and life concepts that are not working for you? I occasionally say to them “So how is that belief working for you?” just hopefully to open their mind to help them see how that belief is effecting their life.
Do I personally get “Straight A’s” in every aspect of my life now? No, yet I am getting better grades all the time as I study diligently and apply the lessons I have learned.
Life is not made up of random events. Like it or not you are much more in direct control of what experiences you have in your life.
Thankfully your life is not like a Credit Report which tracks all the mistakes and less than perfect times in your past, and limits your choice in the future.
I have written these educational blog posts to inspire you to really understand and consistently apply the life lessons necessary in order to live a happy, healthy, prosperous life.

Everyday Miracles

The inspiration for this book arose from a sense of knowingness that everyone on the planet needs to be empowered with the knowledge that God’s Word is true and that the latest scientific endeavors are continually reaffirming this fact!
What I know to be true is that as my family, and others with whom we have shared this knowledge, practice the truths laid forth in this book, the miracles are stacking up. From the complete healing of my eleven-year-old daughter’s paralysis of both legs from West Nile Virus, to instantaneously fixing broken computers, printers and automobiles we are finding the “little miracles” are becoming commonplace and too numerous to recall.
Only the “bigger ones” remain in memory – although we thank God for all blessings big and small.
All of us are on a journey that has no end, but with the correct destination, the journey is empowering the farther along we go. Everyday Miracles by God’s Design is not the end all dissertations on how to experience the miraculous,“more than abundant life” promised us by God. It is a guide.
I believe the contents of this book are divinely inspired! I am not a theologian trained in hallowed halls of stone and brick. I am what the Word of God says I am…a worthy Son of God, heir to all that God is and joint-heir with Christ.
Open your mind and heart to what God is saying. I have purposely focused this book on God’s light and love. You will find no “fire and brimstone” because I want and God wants for you to operate in His “perfect love” without fear and without condemnation. If you will walk in the light as God is in the light, a tremendous miracle will happen… all fear will evaporate.

Great efforts were made to accurately interpret throughout this book, based upon the ancient and original text of the Holy Bible, the prior usage of the words, the context of the reference, and most importantly by opening my heart and mind and simply asking God to show me and teach me His truth.
I have provided the scripture references in the body of the text so that you can immediately see that what I am saying is backed up by God’s Word in the Bible.
Each time I read this book, I am overwhelmed by thelig ht of God’s love emanating from the text. It
was never hidden, but the real “how to” of living a miracle filled life is revealed here again in God’s words.
This book is short enough to read virtually every day. I encourage you to work the concepts in this book by purposely and consciously taking it apart piece by piece and meditating on it. Integrate each aspect into every day.

What we know is that God’s Word has a mathematical and scientific precision. To leave out anything is to destroy this precision. As you practice these keys presented herein, you will find that God will develop in you a sense of “knowingness” so you can always know, beyond the ability of your five senses to know, when you are de-powering Him in your life. Cultivate this knowingness and you will know what works and what is required for you to manifest God’s power in your life.
Everyday Miracles by God’s Design is written to and for all, from no particular religious denomination or theology other than being based upon the right-use-ness (right application to righteousness) of God’s Word, referenced through The Holy Bible. It is a path that all can follow who seek to know God better. It is also a guide to reaching our highest level of spiritual achievement (the Greek word, teleioteta), meaning
“perfection,” as spoken of in Mark 6:1 -perfect love.
“perfection,” as spoken of in Mark 6:1 -perfect love.
I am so excited for you! Read it a hundred times if necessary and be empowered with God’s light and love.
I pray that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened and that your heart be empowered with the knowledge to reach ever greater spiritual maturity as a child of God.
May God be glorified in this work.

Learning to Notice
I definitely receive 10,000 x 10,000 in blessings from God. My life seems to be spent learning to notice the blessings and learning to trust that as I continue to give to others, of my time, love, care, compassion, and service, that all I could ever want and all that I do want is coming to me within each moment.
If we are not observant of blessings within each moment…the joyful journey through life passes unnoticed and uncelebrated…like the ever-changing, scintillating flashes of color and light from the many facets of a well cut diamond ring, which if we are not observant puts on its fiery show, yet is largely unappreciated and lost in the moment amongst the busy-ness of the day.
Blessings pelt us like millions of raindrops as heaven and earth is moved like clockwork in the orchestra of Divine synchronicity to bring about that which we steadfastly hold in the “want chamber” our heart.
The spice of life is tasted in the many flashes of all that is.
Each interaction in our lives is a lesson in developing compassion. Our interactions are the fine grit with which the progressive soul can polish the awareness of its own and other’s Divine nature.
Every life we get to touch and every life that touches us is a lesson and a blessing. I am a better man for having known you, and you, and you!

How can WE at Hansa Center Help YOU?
We are here to help YOUR body get to & stay in its most optimum state. All of the blog posts & interviews in the past & that will be posted in the future are to help inform you how to achieve optimum health in body, mind & spirit.
Of course, having done this for 14 years, treating thousands of people from all over the world, I've heard some of the same questions over & over.
Here are a few of them with answers:
What is unique about Hansa Center?
We use testing that allows us to determine sources of imbalance instead of just symptoms, so we can custom tailor a treatment program to fit your body’s very specific needs. We believe that God created the body to heal itself, and we give it the tools it needs to restore balance and rid itself of illness.
Have you helped people like me?
We have helped people with nearly every condition, from rare chronic diseases to maintenance care. We do not specialize in any one illness, but instead we facilitate balance in the body as a whole.
What is your success rate?
Our doctors usually expect that patients begin to see improvement in some areas within the first two days of treatment, and usually in many areas within two weeks. They also coach patients on lifestyle, mindset, and spiritual components of health and healing, and provide strategies for continuing to maintain whole-person health after your treatment program is over.
Will I feel worse before I feel better?
Removing toxins from the body does not have to make your symptoms worse. Since our testing and treatments allow us to balance the body as it heals, patients do not experience difficult reactions as you may have felt with many other treatment programs.
Why come for two weeks?
It has taken your body a long time to get sick. Our doctors use a two week program of concentrated treatments to get the body jump-started back towards healing.
What will I do in the clinic for two weeks?
Patients visit Hansa Center every weekday and spend 4-5 hours in the clinic. This usually includes a 60-75 minute office visit with one of our doctors, using therapies to aid in removing toxins and building the immune system, and taking supplements tested for your body by the doctors. Every case is unique so this varies for each patient somewhat.
How much does it cost?
Your treatment program will vary depending on your body’s needs. We estimate that patients spend $700-900 per day during the two week program. More details on this are in our New Patient Packet. (Contact our office for this: info@hansacenter.com)
What payment methods are available?
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept checks, cash, and major credit cards – Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.Do you accept insurance?
Upon request, we can provide you with codes to file to your insurance for reimbursement. Our New Patient Packet contains a reference sheet so that you may ask your insurance company about coverage before coming if you wish.
Will I need to return after the initial two week program?
This will be decided by the patient and doctors together, but often the doctors recommend that patients return 4-8 weeks after their initial program for a week of follow-up care. Phone consultations with a doctor are also available for follow-up.
Can you give me advice over the phone so I don’t have to come to the clinic?
Our doctors are available to make recommendations in a phone consultation, however, what they can do over the phone is very limited compared to coming in for treatment. To schedule a consultation, we need some case history forms completed and a credit card on file. Consultations are billed $100 for a 30 minute call. Call our office to schedule.
Is there a written protocol I can follow at home?
The Perfect-7 Treatment and Detoxification Protocol® is our best recommendation for at-home treatment. Read it in Dr. Jernigan’s book, Beating Lyme Disease 2nd Edition: Living the Good Life in Spite of Lyme, which you may purchase on our site here.

The Heart of the Wise
I have a saying that came to me one day that I want to share with you. “The heart of the wise knows the way by heart.” Research has demonstrated that the heart is generating the command signals to the DNA, that the heart has a brain of its own, and that the heart knows the truth of all things 5-10 seconds before the head brain can even process what it is sensing. The Biblical truth which says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he…,” or so does he manifest, reflects this research!
From past posts you have heard me say that in all aspects of life we are all manifesting the truths written on our hearts. I have written about how the heart generates over 95% of the energy production of the body. Scientist have determined that the heart fields project potentially infinitely out from your body.
You have heard me say energy goes where you focus, that every thought is every cell’s command to make that thought come true by shifting its chemistry and energy, that from your heart you absolutely project energy into the world drawing to you that which you greatly want or what you greatly don’t want without fail.
Recall now that the heart cannot lie about what it believes is true as demonstrated with polygraph machines, that we must guard your heart with great diligence as to what you put there as truth, that sincerity is no guarantee of truth, that the boundaries and limitations of the boxes of our reality are outlined by everything that we have correctly and/or incorrectly identified as truth.
We talked about that in the quest for optimum health that no pill will rewrite your heart truths or bypass the need to ask forgiveness, forgive, and express true love, and thankfulness to yourself and others.
Another ancient truth says, “The heart of the wise teaches the mouth, and brings understanding to the lips.” I ask you now. If your heart knows the truth of all things before your head concerning every aspect of a joyful life and optimum health, doesn’t it make sense that we should be learning to rewrite any untrue “truths” we may have in our heart, and consciously and purposely use our heart more as we go through each moment of our life?
If you feel lost in life, in any respect, I encourage you re-read the three posts called “The Keys to Optimum Health.” Make the commitment to yourself to heal your body, mind, and spirit. From optimum health follow the path of joy for all of life’s decisions. Fill your heart with knowledge and truth…and your wise heart will know the way by heart! Share
