Seriously choking back the tears about this joyful event! We just got this testimonial today with permission to publish it. This picture was taken just today!
Even though there have been many thousands of stories of dramatic recoveries that have taken place at the Hansa Center over the last twenty years, I still get moved to tears of joy...who says big boys don't cry!
Five months ago Tessa was in a wheelchair and not expected to live.
I cannot tell it better than the words of her mother:
"The bitter season of my life that led me to Hansa was a living nightmare. My teenaged daughter, Tessa, was barely clinging to life, and nobody could tell us what was wrong with her. Tests showed no reason why our bright high school senior could no longer count to ten, read, write, walk, or bathe herself. No reason why her body was thrashing in seizures and throbbing with unbearable neuropathic pain. When a diagnosis of Lyme Disease and its co-infection, Ehrlichiosis, was finally made, we were so relieved because treatment was simply antibiotics. Unfortunately, they made her so much worse that the doctor who prescribed them pulled me aside and said she didn’t have much time left.
Diving into fanatical research, I came across Hansa. Patients’ testimonials gave me hope. Tessa arrived at Hansa suffering unimaginable pain, in a wheelchair, rolling an oxygen tank behind her, dark glasses protecting her sensitive eyes from light.
I arrived ragged and desperate. But once I sat down in the reception area, a calm washed over me. The staff and patients offered grounded encouragement. Dr. Streit, one of doctors at the Hansa Center in Wichita, KS, was brilliant and compassionate. For two weeks, treatments and remedies customized specifically for Tessa’s body brought brightness back to her eyes and color to her cheeks. Her sunglasses were off. She was slowly emerging.
Honestly, I was disappointed that she wasn’t completely healed after two weeks. I was ready for a miracle. But, over the course the next five months, we returned to Hansa two more times. Each time, she got much better. At Dr. Streit’s suggestion, we added functional neurology and energy therapy to her treatment plan.
As I write this, ten months have passed since our first trip to Hansa. Tessa can now walk through the neighborhood, climb stairs, participate in her favorite hobbies of art and music, and is enrolled in college classes. Treatment at Hansa was worth every penny we had to beg and borrow for.
Thank you, Hansa. My heart overflows with gratitude and love for you all."
I used to have a marketing person who worked at the clinic tell me, "Dr. Jernigan, we cannot tell these amazing stories. We have to tell the lesser tale, because these are just too fantastic for anyone to believe!"
Score one more for the philosophy of treating to restore the integrity and optimum functioning of the body to eliminate serious disease.
I want to thank you Renée and your husband, for trusting us with your daughter's life! We praise God for this great outcome!
