Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Hansa Center FAQs

How do I get started?

Call our office at 316-686-5900 to schedule initial testing and physical and make the initial deposit. We will send you our New Patient Packet with forms and a patient history to fill out. Read it and answer all the questions completely.

How and when do I pay?

We require a non-refundable deposit to book your treatment program. Once you have been evaluated, the doctors will determine the protocol for you. We generally recommend 2 weeks of intensive treatments. Patients who are within a short driving distance may be able to space their treatment plan out over our 3 month protocol depending on their health evaluation.

Do you have other clinic locations?

Not at this time. Our clinic in Wichita is the only place using our Hansa Center comprehensive treatment model.

How long is the wait to get an appointment?

It varies depending on several factors, but we usually recommend scheduling at least one month ahead of time. Occasionally, we are able to find last-minute appointments for patients who are in urgent need, but please do not rely on that. Your health is of the utmost importance. It is best to schedule as soon as possible.

How can I prepare for my treatment program?

We recommend reading and understanding our health philosophies in Dr. Jernigan’s books, Beating Lyme Disease 2nd Edition: Living the Good Life in Spite of Lyme (even if you don’t have Lyme) and Everyday Miracles by God’s Design.

What should I pack?

Kansas experiences all four seasons, but the temperatures can vary widely from one day to the next. We suggest bringing layers so that you have several options for clothing. Online weather websites can give you a 10-day forecast to help with your planning as well. For treatments in the clinic, we suggest wearing a button-down shirt or camisole (for the ladies), and please bring a bathing suit for use in the Infrared Sauna.

Should I bring medical records with me?

Please bring any information you feel is important for our doctors to see, but it is not required to bring records. We generally use our own testing to determine treatment protocols.

What about food?

We have three local health food stores in town – Green Acres, Whole Foods, and Natural Grocers -- and our national Kroger chain (Dillons) also has a fairly good selection of natural and organic foods. We can also provide a list of recommended restaurants upon your arrival at the clinic.

Will I have time to do sight-seeing?

Most patients spend 4-6 hours per day in the clinic, so your days will be full. You may have a little time in the evenings, but many people choose to or need to just rest in that time. The clinic is closed on the weekends, so this may allow time for sight-seeing. For more information on tourism in Wichita, please visit http://www.gowichita.com/.

How can I prepare to return home?

The doctors will give you a plan for continuing supplements, therapies, etc. when you return home. Supplements may be re-ordered by phone if your at-home protocol is adjusted by the doctors.

Why is Hansa Center Unique?

We use testing that allows us to determine sources of imbalance instead of just symptoms, so we can custom tailor a treatment program to fit your body’s very specific needs. We believe that God created the body to heal itself, and we give it the tools it needs to restore balance and rid itself of illness.

Have you helped people like me?

We have helped people with nearly every condition, from rare chronic diseases to maintenance care. We do not specialize in any one illness, but instead we facilitate balance in the body as a whole.

What is your success rate?

Our doctors usually expect that patients begin to see improvement in some areas within the first two days of treatment, and usually in many areas within two weeks. They also coach patients on lifestyle, mindset, and spiritual components of health and healing, and provide strategies for continuing to maintain whole-person health after your treatment program is over.

Will I feel worse before I feel better?

Removing toxins from the body does not have to make your symptoms worse. Since our testing and treatments allow us to balance the body as it heals, patients do not experience difficult reactions as you may have felt with many other treatment programs.

Why come for two weeks if I'm within a short driving distance?

It has taken your body a long time to get sick. Our doctors use a two-week program of concentrated treatments to get the body jump-started back towards healing.

What will I do in the clinic for two weeks?
Patients visit Hansa Center every weekday and spend 4-5 hours in the clinic. This usually includes a 60-75 minute office visit with one of our doctors, using therapies to aid in removing toxins and building the immune system, and taking supplements tested for your body by the doctors.

How much does it cost?

We offer inclusive packages that cover all doctor treatments, therapies, and remedies/supplements over the course of the treatment program. Please contact us for exact pricing at 316-686-5900 Ext.1.

What payment methods are accepted?

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept checks, cash, care credit and major credit cards – Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Do you accept insurance?

Our New Patient Packet contains a reference sheet so that you may use to ask your insurance company about coverage before coming if you wish. However, this is handled by the patients. We do not submit insurance.

Will I need to return after the initial two week program?

This will be decided by the patient and doctors together, but often the doctors recommend that patients return 4-8 weeks after their initial program for a week of follow-up care. Phone consultations with a doctor are also available for follow-up only with patients once they've been to the clinic for care.

Is there a written protocol I can follow at home?

The Perfect-7 Treatment and Detoxification Protocol® is our best recommendation for at-home treatment. Read it in Dr. Jernigan’s book, Beating Lyme Disease 2nd Edition: Living the Good Life in Spite of Lyme. Although it is a very good protocol, it is not at all the same as what is done at the clinic under the care of our doctors.

I’m ready to come for treatment. What next?

Call our office to schedule your program! You will be asked for a deposit to reserve your appointments, and we will send you a New Patient Packet with further details and case history forms to complete. We can help with other questions you may have as well.
